Sarajevo-The European Union has implemented a project worth 1.8 million euros that built BiH institutions for the management of European aid. Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina presented today in Sarajevo the results of a three-year project to strengthen capacity of Ministry of Finance and Treasury in implementing the decentralised system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is funded by the European Union in the value of 1.8 million. The result of this project is the establishment of new structures - the National Fund and the Central Financing and Contracting Unit, which will be within the Ministry of Finance and Treasury to manage the future EU financial assistance.
Head of the Public Administration Reform in the Delegation of EU to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maria Farrar-Hockley explained at a press conference that the aim of this decentralised system that the country must have an appropriate structure in the function of this system and to properly use the Pre-Accession funds. Assistant Minister of Finance and Treasury, Vera Letica expressed hope that the next steps to be taken by the Council of Ministers will contribute to faster progress of other parts of the system, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to gain accreditation for independent project management of EU funds.
